The selected consultant will support Port staff in developing design criteria for the Port’s portion of the redevelopment, reviewing the master design plans and bridging documents prepared by the City of Oakland through its master design and development team for the OAB, and reviewing the City’s Design-Builder’s project submittals. In addition, the Port anticipates contracting directly with the Port’s own Design-Builder for the Outer Harbor Intermodal Terminal rail yard (OHIT) construction portion of the OAB development. Hence, the Port will also need additional support for: developing design criteria for the OHIT; preparing plans and bridging documents; preparing a Request for Proposals from Design-Builders for the design and construction of the OHIT; project cost estimating and scheduling; reviewing the Design-Builder’s project submittals; and providing Construction Management support during OHIT construction. Please note that complete Certification Application Packages for consultants who wish to be certified as small/local businesses must be delivered no later than 4:00 PM on April 2, 2012 to: Port of Oakland Social Responsibility Division, Port of Oakland Building, 530 Water Street, 3rd Floor, Oakland, California, Attention: Pamela Bell. Please also note that, for this RFP, insurance documentation must be submitted at the time of Proposal submission. Questions regarding this RFP must be submitted no later than 5:00 PM on Monday, April 2, 2012. The Port will respond to proposer questions no later than 5:00 PM on Friday, April 6, 2012.
