 Q&A
Subject: Trembley Lane Lift Station Pump Replacement/Relocation "Local Compliance Statement" Posted by:Posted Anonymously
Q: Does the “Local Higher Compliance Statement” and the “Local Hire Compliance Statement Attachment: Qualifying Employee List” on pages 111 and 112 need to be completed as part of the Bid Proposal as requested on Page 125? 02/09/18
7:34:24 AM
A: No. Pages 111 and 112 will be required to be completed in full and submitted to the Engineer within one week of the project’s contract start date. 02/09/18

Subject: Trembley Lane Lift Station Pump Replacement/Relocation "Staging Areas" Posted by:Posted Anonymously
Q: Can we use a portion of the County's Pinto Lake Park for construction staging? 02/08/18
11:44:32 AM
A: If you obtain approval by the County Parks Department, a portion of Pinto Lake Park may be available for staging. 02/08/18

Subject: Trembley Lane Lift Station Pump Replacement/Relocation "Minimum Cover on SSFM" Posted by:Posted Anonymously
Q: What is the minimum trench depth? 02/08/18
11:34:25 AM
A: As the proposed force mains exist the wet well, a minimum of 20” of cover is called for on Sheet PS1.2. The force main shall exit the flow meter vault and as soon as possible without having a downward slope in the force main, a minimum of 3’ of cover shall be achieved. This is shown in the profile on Sheet C1.1 from approximately STA 10+20 to STA 10+85. To avoid conflicts with existing utility crossings, it seems likely that it will make the most sense to construct the proposed force main at approximately the same depth as the existing force main. Exact depth, however, will need to be determined once existing utilities are located at the time of construction. 02/08/18
11:34:25 AM

Subject: Trembley Lane Lift Station Pump Replacement/Relocation "SSFM Trench Backfill" Posted by:Posted Anonymously
Q: What is the correct detail for trench backfill? Drawing C1.1 has the following notes: a. Backfill SSFM per S-11 on DT1.1 (No S-11 on DT1.1) b. Construct new HDPE Force Main per Detail on PS1.2, DT1.1, and the project specifications (Cannot tell which detail governs) 02/08/18
11:17:36 AM
A: Regarding the SSFM construction please note the following: *On Sheet C1.1, Force Main Construction Keynote No. 1. refers generally to PS1.2, DT1.1, and the Project Specifications for construction requirements. PS1.2 shows the force main layout in plan view. DT1.1 provides trench backfill requirements for both longitudinal and cross trenches at various depths. In the Project Specifications, Section 10-1.14 "Trench Backfill" gives some information regarding the trench backfill but also notes in the first paragraph, that details shown on the plans govern. *Please replace the reference for S-11 on Sheet C1.1 with "Detail 4". The detail was renamed and this reference was not changed. Detail 4 on Sheet DT1.1 refers to Details 1 and 2, also shown on DT1.1. 02/08/18

Subject: Trembley Lane Lift Station Pump Replacement/Relocation "PG&E Service" Posted by:Posted Anonymously
Q: Has PG&E been contact contacted about temporary service to the pump station and nearby homes? The number in the specifications is not valid. 02/08/18
11:00:58 AM
A: PG&E is aware that during construction, the service to the pump station may need to be temporarily disconnected from the pole within the existing fenced area. "Lift Station Construction Note" No. 7 on Sheet PS1.1 gives the correct number to call to coordinate the disconnection and reconnection. It is desired to not interrupt the PG&E service to the residents, but if it is unavoidable, the engineer should be notified prior to construction. Rather than calling the direct number for PG&E listed in the specifications prior to construction, 811 shall be called. 02/08/18
11:00:58 AM

Subject: Trembley Lane Lift Station Pump Replacement/Relocation "Working Days in Light of Precast Procurement Time" Posted by:Posted Anonymously
Q: Precast manufacturers are very busy. What if the working days stated in the specifications does not allow enough time to procure the precast units? 02/02/18
9:15:22 AM
A: Once the contract is awarded, if the successful bidder finds that precast companies are unable to deliver the precast units in the time required to meet the 90-working-day contract schedule, the District will verify this with the precast companies and if it is found to be true, will extend the working days in the contract. 02/02/18
